Dive into island life in the Dominican Republic, from Santo Domingo to the central mountains to the northern coast. You’ll experience the vibrant local heritage as you explore historical museums and celebrate traditional customs with locals. While you become immersed in the culture, you’ll journey deep into the central and northern regions for a few days where you’ll work together with community members to address environmental, conservation and education challenges through a series of small service projects.

    Take a guided tour of Santo Domingo

    With your expert local guide you will see:

    • Catedral de Santa María la Menor
    • Ozama Fortress

    Travel to your service project location

    • Learn about your specific service work during your project orientation
    • Take a tour of the local community you’ll be serving

    Enjoy a BBQ dinner in Jarabacoa

  • Day 3: Service project • Jarabacoa

    Focus your efforts on an environmental-themed service project in the Central Mountain region where you will participate in activities like:

    • Composting
    • Reforestation
    • Greenhouse maintenance

    Enjoy a whitewater rafting excursion 

  • Day 4: Jarabacoa • Santiago • North Coast

    Participate in a pottery workshop

    Visit the Centro Cultural Eduardo León Jimenes 

    Take a guided tour of Santiago

    Visit a local farm

  • Day 5: Service Project • North Coast

    Travel to your service project location

    Surfing Lessons in Cabarete

    Learn to surf on the white sand beaches of one of the Dominican Republic's premier surfing locations. Here, an instructor will teach you how to stand on your board as well as how to paddle and pass waves. Once in the water, you'll have the chance to surf by yourself under the supervision of your instructor. 

  • Day 7: North Coast • Santiago

    Take a guided tour of a national marine park where tropical plants and pristine beaches are abound

    Enjoy a naturalist tour of the lagoon

    Travel to Santiago

  • Day 8: Depart for home
