Teacher benefits

Let’s talk about you for a second

As a teacher, selflessness can feel like part of the job description. But let’s take a moment to consider how being a traveling teacher can impact you—as an educator, as a leader of student travel experiences, and yes, as a person, too.

Enjoy world-class travel rewards

EF Group Leaders get access to the best rewards program in the world—and as constant global travelers, we don’t use that phrase unless we really mean it. First of all, there are tons of easy ways to earn Global Rewards Points—including enrolling students or referring a friend. And second, you’ll be able to put them to use practically right away. Redeem them for VIP Rewards Tours (a.k.a just-for-you, just-for-fun adventures that go everywhere from Rwanda to Rome and Istanbul to the Tour de France), or exchange them for student scholarships or other EF travel opportunities.

See where you can go

Join a community of lifelong learners

EF offers a wide range of opportunities to connect with other traveling teachers and grow as an educator. And when you enroll students on one of our tours, you join the EF Group Leader Lounge. From classroom resources to exclusive events, you’ll receive ideas and inspiration in the time leading up to your trip.

Get inspired

Meet fellow educators at EF’s Global Education Symposium or explore the world’s education systems on tours made just for traveling teachers.

Get credit for growing

Earn up to six graduate-level credits or 45 professional learning hours or points—all while exploring new destinations. See details here.

Get bragging rights

Partner with EF and gain access to exclusive events like Harvard’s Think Tank on Global Education and the Nobel Prize Teacher Summit.

Experience a tour before you lead your students out into the world

Once enrollment is underway, first-time traveling teachers are welcomed into the EF family with training programs designed just for you, at no cost. Our in-person training tours take place in dreamy destinations like Paris, Panama, and Berlin. There, you’ll learn from both EF staffers and Global Education Ambassadors (experienced Group Leaders who often serve as mentors throughout the planning process) to get a taste of what your own tour will look like. And the first time the size of your group reaches 60+ travelers and requires at least two buses? We thought of that, too. You and your lead chaperone are invited on an International Multibus Training Tour, designed specifically for teachers leading large groups, at no cost. Whether you embark on an international training tour or take part in our virtual training program, we’ll make sure you feel prepared and confident before you lead your students abroad.

Put on your future-thinking cap

While you’ll walk away from tour with many tangible rewards, the most important one is the life-changing impact you’ll make on your students while teaching abroad. You’ll help them prepare for the future by helping them learn more about the world, themselves, and their place in the world. Plus, they just might get their first taste of authentic gelato. And that’s also truly life-changing.

One more thing

For every six travelers you enroll, you get a spot on tour, on us. That means you can travel at no cost to you and bring along your dream team of chaperones. Oh, and you might suddenly become the most popular person in the teacher’s room. Ready to become a traveling teacher?
