International flights 101

Whether this is your child’s first time on a plane or their first time traveling without family, flying with their peers is a great way to kick off a journey of experiential learning together.

When will I receive my child’s flights?

You’ll receive their final flight information about 21 days before they leave.

Will my child’s flights be direct, or will they have layovers?

International flights usually have one or more connections, either in the United States or abroad, and most eastbound flights are overnight. While excitement is always high, we recommend travelers use this time to catch some zzzs so they’re ready to hit the ground running upon arrival.

What happens when they land?

Your child’s group will be picked up at the terminal by their Tour Director, who will be their guide throughout the entire tour. On most Europe tours, groups will be bussed right from the airport and into the city center to start exploring. On most tours headed to Latin America, Asia, or the South Pacific, groups will usually head straight to the hotel to rest.

Relax and recharge on the bus

Every EF tour uses private, air-conditioned coach buses, whether travelers are headed across a city or across country lines. Bus rides are the perfect time for travelers to rest, connect with new friends, and take in all the sights as their Tour Director or an expert local guide narrates their journey.
