Kick things off in San José, where you’ll harness The Power of Environmental Stewardship at our inspiring leadership conference. From there, discover Costa Rica’s commitment to conservation as you make your way to the Caribbean coast. You’ll stop at biological reserves, national parks, and research centers, and explore how these awe-inspiring areas restore ecological balance and protect wildlife.EF Summits are open to rising 9th graders through graduated seniors.

Visit Irazú Volcano National Park, an important protected area for ecosystem biodiversity

Visit Cahuita National Park with an expert local guide
Go snorkeling amongst colorful fish while observing 600 acres of living coral reefs

Day 7: Caribbean coastal region • Sarapiquí
Travel to Sarapiquí
Visit the Veragua Rainforest Research & Adventure Park, where you will:
- See how research and conservation can intersect with tourism and education
- Participate in activities that inspire you to respect and protect our natural world

Day 8: Sarapiquí
Visit a pineapple farm
Take a tour at Tirimbina Biological Reserve where you will:
- Hike across a suspension bridge to a former cocoa-growing plot
- Learn about the cocoa tree and the history of chocolate
- Enjoy a chocolate tasting

Travel via Braulio Carrillo National Park to San José
Visit Braulio Carrillo National Park and see the rainforest from a new perspective via an aerial tram
Enjoy a Costa Rican folklore evening
